Comment by Hermes_505 on November 19, 2008 at 11:02am: Lest we not forget that the student population at UNM has a disproportionate number of "non-traditional" students compared to many regional U's. And we are an economically challenged State as well. Just a couple of a myriad of reasons why UNM football faces some attendance challenges out the gate. Certainly would help for better marketing, too. Although given the upcoming funding cuts, and executive pay, I doubt that will happen...

And regarding the UNM VP pay, yowzahs. Couldn't they move to a more performance based compensation model? Perhaps a comparison to State is not fair, but they have more VPs and better compensation than a lot of regional schools, and a lot of regional big business.

Now Lance is trying to make a come back? I really feel sorry for these people and I think of Barry Sanders and others. Remember him? Had enough on the ball to retire on his terms and have a life afterward. So many people are one dimensional in their thinking and image of themselves. Or am I missing the boat? Is old Lance living above his means and having to come back to cover expenses? Geesh!
