The Homer Simpson in me wants to drink some candle wax and give that insanity pepper a try.

Thanks for an awesome week of Morning Fix, Andrew!

RE: Lead and Coal -- Yeah, well, you know...somebody probably put the bike path on the wrong side of the street. Also, there's certainly been a shortage of the Orange barrels around town....

Um, erm, not to be too picky, but the Bike 101 class is not actually put on by the League of American Bicyclists. It is put on by the city and...BikeABQ! Anyway, it is CERTIFIED by the League of American Bicyclists, meaning it uses the LAB's curriculum and also LAB certified instructors teach it. I know it's a tiny point, but there you go.

And, to second G. Golden Crutcher, it is a great class. Even if you think you know everything about cycling on the road, you probably don't. Like the lady who honken at me on Campus the other day, wanting me to get on over into the right-turn only lane--even though I was not turning right. She even bothered to roll down her window to tell me she bikes on Campus all the time and that I was doing it wrong. Uh, no, lady. SHE needs to take herself to a Bike 101 class where she'd learn that a bicycle, like a car, needs to be in the lane that best serves its destination. Since I wasn't turning right, the right-turn only lane would have actually been the most dangerous for me--and annoying to vehicles wanting to turn right, too. Oh, I could go on and on...

Okay, so the dude who was drunkenly humping his cars could possibly spend FOUR YEARS IN JAIL? That is beyond ridiculous. Dude needs some help, possibly, but not incarceration for making an ass of himself in a parking lot. Feh. We need to quit sending people to jail for the most minor of offenses. Yes, humping a car in a parking lot should be a minor offense.

That's Old English for "honked."

Awesome job with the Morning Fix this week, Andy!

I loved the list of post-secondary schools in the city - there are some good options for a second career choice. Barelas Babe, Pet Groomer to the 'Hood, has a nice ring to it.

e: Lead and Coal
The first phase has been implemented - reduce the number of lanes and add a bike lane - but the entire project goes well beyond that. The aim is to make it a "complete street," meaning walkable, bikeable, and friendly to public transit as well. The next phase of the project will add nice, wide landscaped sidewalks, making a much more pleasant experience for everyone involved.

I agree OBTS, it is a creepy thing to be fornicating with your car in public, but you would assume some form of treatment would be better for this guy than prison. Also thanks for giving personal insight into the Bike 101 class. I can't make it this weekend, but I want to make the next one.
