A long time ago, here in Albuquerque, there was a combo called the Bud Warner Express. Their appearance was completely incongruous with the fabulous sound they put out. I always wondered what happened to them. Well, I have my answer for at least one of them: Bud Warner · Piano - at the Sizzler 7212 Menaul Blvd NE (6-9 p.m.) FREE (Saturday night).
This is not the kind of plant we want to cultivate.

Someday I am going to go to Alburquerque and see if I can surprise the residents by telling them "Soy de Alburquerque--Nuevo Mexico." I'm hoping it might at least get me a free glass of wine...

That reminds me of the time that I was in Madrid watching a street performer with some friends from Albuquerque - the guy identified us as Americans and pulled us into his act. You should have seen his confusion when he asked us where we were from and we replied Albuquerque!
