• Did you miss it? On Saturday, the ABQ Journal's Tom Cole courageously asked who paid for the 80+ pieces the Journal has published from the Rio Grande Foundation. The answer? NOYB.
• Murder most foul! La Llorona spotted grabbing, scrambling eggs at UNM Duck Pond.
• Bad Bologna. Ex-GF treats guy's dog to a plate-full of poisoned bologna. Owner gets hip and makes his dog Bo throw it up. Bo okay; Ex-GF out on bond.
• Enchiladas de Cajones. Monroe's Restaurant says it doesn't need the government nor, apparently, half its customers…the Democrats.
• But Beware the Bolt. ABQ Church hit by lightning going to be okay church leaders say because, "Acts of God are covered by insurance." Hmmm.

Comment by SoyJames on July 30, 2012 at 9:04am Yeah,,, damn that government for building a road near my business so that customers can get to it!
Comment by ramon t on July 30, 2012 at 9:23am Round and round. That damn business owner (as well as tax payers) paid for that damn road which now a days are built and maintained by private companies such as http://www.ashorner.com/projects.php.
Comment by Johnny_Mango on July 30, 2012 at 10:23am Say, RLA...why don't you tell the name of your "successful" business if you want to do without the support of those who vote Democratic. That's the point. Monroe's on Lomas in the north valley takes in most of its money from those who support Obama. It is a strange take on loyalty. Monroe's customers have been loyal to that restaurant for decades. Yet where does the loyalty of the owner lie?

Comment by ramon t on July 30, 2012 at 10:51am oh noes...someone has a different opinion than me. I think I'll boycott them and show them what is up! We should all just march to the drum of our dear leader and the Democrat party.
Comment by Granjero on July 30, 2012 at 10:58am Johnny, that's interesting. So a company should be beholden to the customer's moral rather than it's own. It's a strange take on integrity. Kind of like, though not exactly, the Chick-Fi lay thing. Because an owner of a company has a certain belief that some folks disagree with, people should shut that business down? Even though the business itself in no way discriminates against its employees or customers.
Do you think Monroes would turn away a customer because they think Government should completely take over all business operations in the country? No. They'd say, How may we serve you?
The owners of Monroes don't like Obama. Big deal, how many business didn't like Bush? (especially in the Nob Hill Area) Were they being disloyal to republican tourists/customers?
Comment by Granjero on July 30, 2012 at 11:06am Soy, wait till that same government decides it needs a road going right through your home. I'm sure you'll be all happy about it then too. All Hail the Great Provider....
Comment by Johnny_Mango on July 30, 2012 at 11:09am I don't disagree. Hence the title of this piece, "Bite me." But it is interesting to take a pretty gratuitous poke at someone your patrons hold dear. One should expect a reaction. Another example is Tom Cole's piece in the Journal. Very courageous in the Bite Me catagory.
