Hahahaha! A "math" lab?? There must have been multiplication tables everywhere!

Paid parking has kept me away from the State Fair in the past. Now, I suspect it'll be the $10.00 admission that keeps me away. Maybe I'm a cheapskate, but I just don't see ten dollars worth of value there, for me personally. Free parking and five bucks seems like a reasonable admission price. Get the family in the door for a couple of sawbucks. Now once inside, I don't mind spending some cash for food and a few rides for the kiddos if they are so inclined...

If the fair still does the special admission discount days, then I'm still likely to go. There are enough enjoyable things to do...especially Future Farmers, Sheep to Shawl, and the chicken and bunny shows. I've been to other state fairs that are much more expensive, so I think our local one is fairly reasonable.

Rena! Yes!  Slide rules and calculators scattered about! ;)

the $10 becomes more off-putting when I consider how much money we spend on food at the fair (navajo tacos, turkey legs, corn on the cob, piiieeee!). but I imagine we'll still go. the events and exhibits that we like to see are all free anyway and it'll be a while before our kiddo starts begging for rides on the midway, which is where it gets expensive fast. we'll probably keep an eye out for discount days too.

I see the Fair is shorter, too. It's only 12 days, instead of 17: Wed. Sept. 12 to Sun. Sept. 23. I heard on KUNM that they noticed that few state fairs were more than 10 days any more.

Whenever they talk about the economies of the Faigrounds in Abq, they never mention the rest of the year. What about the rent from the weekly Flea Market and all those other events?

The state flair lost its appeal when it gave up on livestock and turned it into a midway. Joe no quiero ir, I fear. Jose, tampoco.
