What's going on, Albuquerque?
Um, that's not a roundabout at Jefferson Middle School. It's a loop road and it sucks. APS completely ignored the concerns of the neighbors regarding this road and refused to consider any alternative. Boo on APS.
Agreed, OBTS. Boo on APS. I may be cynical but I found it interesting that the City Council made a big stink about blocking the loop road's curb-cut permit before the municipal election, but the cut was made almost immediately after the final results were tallied.
Lita, your "final Frontier" headline gave me a good scare before I clicked on the link...
Phil_0, I think APS used existing curb cuts and widened them. I haven't walked it, but that's what it looked like they did. However, I am a cynic and wouldn't be surprised if the city council vote was strategically timed. We'll see if the city council ends up on following through on their promise to make APS engage in studies the next time they start altering traffic flows.

Same here. Lita, don't play with my emotions (and my appetite) like that!
Haha! When I wrote that headline I thought, gee, it sounds like the Frontier is closing. That'll freak everyone out. Guess it did! Sorry!
I've only driven by, OBTS, but I think the main cutout, at least, is brand new. Several folks at the city went on the record about not letting them get their permit prior to construction.
