What's going on, Albuquerque?

One of these days I will get my recycling bin. I could have sworn the whole city was supposed have them by the end of last year. Still don't have them in Old Town. Urrghhhh.
ramon t - I live in Los Griegos and just got mine a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully you'll get yours soon!
Not sure why but I love Panera and I am just as thrilled as your daughter. Ramon check out this site to see when you get your recycling bin. http://manzano.cabq.gov/gis/swdpickup.php . I don't get my bin until September and I don't live to far from old town.
Panera is good. Though I'd rather go to Golden Crown down the street from my home
Thank for the link Artisqueno.
We got the recycle bins about a month ago. Heaven!
The contractor who supplied the recycle carts skipped a few blocks in our neighborhood. Instead of the contractor or city delivering the missing carts in one trip the city insisted that each resident call and report the missed delivery and they would send one out. They made individual trips for each caller. Your tax dollars at work.
Trash pickup at my house has been really terrible the last month. 4 weeks ago they didn't pick up my trash bin. I called it in and they came out and emptied it 2 days later. Last week they skipped my whole block. All 5 homes were never picked up. I called 311 to have them come out and get it. I also asked to speak with a supervisor to find out what is going on. I have yet to here from them over a week later.
It's too bad you can't leave garden wastes (leaves, weeds, branches, cut grass) in the recycling bins - we don't really drink much stuff out of cans and plastic bottles, don't/won't subscribe to the paper, and mostly buy 5 gallons of bottles water a week and use stainless containers instead of plastic. You can't recycle glass, so there goes our wine and beer bottles. So maybe we would fill the new bin maybe once a month - but, if they would allow us to do plant stuff (maybe in those paper recycling bags), it would be every week, and that stuff could go to one of the composting sites in our county and get turned into mulch.
Panera is good (especially if you're traveling on business and need a quick bite - free wifi! and comfortable settings), but it's pretty pricey for what you get - it's hard to get out of there for less than $10. I do local bakeries here, but Panera there...
And Tony Snell being picked up by Chicago - 20th pick - congrats! (and, being a U of A alumni, having two Wildcats selected - not bad either!)
I think including yard waste would probably be a killer as far as sorting at the facility goes, Shotsie...most of the big cities on the west coast now have separate compost pick-up bins for this purpose, so maybe we could get that someday too. Remember, you can still take your glass to the centralized recycling pick-up spots like always.
@ramon t - I work in your 'hood at the Harwood Art Center. Can I count on you to be in this year's Carnuel Road Parade?
