Still doesn't make sense to me. What are the costs involved? 1.Transportation. 2.Inmate pay. (can it be that much?) Don't even want to get into why we PAY inmates.

By definition. But, since they are wards of the state, it's debatable. But, like I said, I didn't really want to get into that. I'm just curious where the $300,000 that we don't have is going. Not that knowing would make any difference.

Nice insult. Here's your mistake with your uninformed statement: the word "probably." You don't have any clue what kind of medical treatment prisoners receive, do you? I would invite you to visit any jail in this state and discover for yourself exactly what kind of "quality" healthcare inmates get there. Contrary to popular belief, it is not fabulous. It is basic medical care. BASIC. If they are taken to hospital, they are BILLED for the treatment they receive at the hospital. They are also often billed for medications they receive in jail or even treatment they receive in jail.
