Morning Fix: Earth Day Edition
- Albuquerque retrofits its retrotastic gaslights with LEDs.
- NPR features story on Albuquerque's pollen issues despite a 1994 ordinance banning the planting of evil, pollen-spewing tree creatures. The No.1 offender are those damn elms. Although I prefer calling them "Tingley's Folly."
- Albuquerque joined in the first Earth Day, 40 years ago today.
- UNM, CNM, and the City of Albuquerque holding Earth Day festivities.

KNME has a great documentary I saw the other night in the wee hours called "Earth Days" which is a history since the 60s-70s of the environmental movement. It's worth a look.
First Earth Day had MILLIONS of people in the streets. It had an effect on Nixon. Global warming was mentioned as well.
