Comment by misterhinkydink on March 7, 2013 at 7:50am I'll miss Robert Portnoy but the new guy has a good resumé. We'll see.
Comment by jes on March 7, 2013 at 8:40am Good for Sen. Pirtle. I wish the rest of the country would follow suit. There are about 314 million people in the US; I wonder how many person-hours per year are wasted fiddling around with clocks. There are better ways to waste time.
Comment by RunLikeADog on March 7, 2013 at 9:16am I agree. The need for DST was never really there so it is time for it to go.
Comment by once banned twice shy on March 7, 2013 at 3:05pm Yes, good for the unfortunately-named Sen. Pirtle. I HATE DST--and moving it earlier in the year made no sense whatsoever. You're just moving the hour of dark to the morning--where you'll use the power to get ready to get at your day. Meh on DST.
Pretty excited about the new giant booze emporium. Although I do worry that I will be contributing to the WalMartification of booze suppliers if I shop there.
Comment by Lahjik on March 7, 2013 at 6:57pm Speaking as someone who works in a business which coordinates schedules around the country and the world, those few places without DST really piss me off. Arizona and Indiana both can go bite a turd for all the mess they cause around the weeks of clock change. To the Az folks who get indignant when you point out that they don't "Change time zones" but instead simply fail to keep up with the rest of the country, I'm willing to just trade your entire state off to Mexico.
