How 'bout a longer school year for the kids?
This year's Edgefest is on Cinco De Mayo, and has an interesting lineup. According to the website, tickets to "Edgestfest" go onsale on "Thurdsay". Ah, youth.
Immigrant driver's license bill activity becomes chaotic at the roundhouse. Conventional and blogged news report on it and I still have no idea what happened.
CBS Nightly News national program takes up Police confrontations with the mentally ill. Albuquerque is featured prominently.
On May 5, you will find me at the old Morgan Stanley bldg. in Uptown.
There's a new radio voice of the 'Topes.
No more DST, says one NM lawmaker from Roswell. People with young children everywhere are crossing their fingers...

Comment by jes on March 7, 2013 at 8:40am: Good for Sen. Pirtle. I wish the rest of the country would follow suit. There are about 314 million people in the US; I wonder how many person-hours per year are wasted fiddling around with clocks. There are better ways to waste time.

You're just moving the hour of dark to the morning--where you'll use the power to get ready to get at your day. Meh on DST.

Pretty excited about the new giant booze emporium. Although I do worry that I will be contributing to the WalMartification of booze suppliers if I shop there.

Comment by Lahjik on March 7, 2013 at 6:57pm: Speaking as someone who works in a business which coordinates schedules around the country and the world, those few places without DST really piss me off. Arizona and Indiana both can go bite a turd for all the mess they cause around the weeks of clock change. To the Az folks who get indignant when you point out that they don't "Change time zones" but instead simply fail to keep up with the rest of the country, I'm willing to just trade your entire state off to Mexico.
