I see that the state Human Services secretary is burying her head deeper and deeper into the ground.  What on EARTH can she be thinking?  Of course, this is the person who said last year that there was no hunger in NM.

The vandalism and vagrancy in Albq. is just another symptom of our overall disease of poor economy and declining quality of life.  All the mayor can say is that he is proud of our graffiti removal program.  Great. Thanks, Mayor Berry.

I also wish that pedestrian fatalities wouldn't be blamed on alcohol.  Yes, it plays a factor, but what about inadequate crossings and ZERO enforcement of traffic laws, such as citing speeding and inattentive drivers?

Gah. This Morning Fix just depressed the hell out of me.

Let's see - with a food stamp requirement of 20 hours/wk, and the average amount is $124/month, then (for community service - 80 hours/month), the person would be making $1.50/hr - wait - that's what waitstaff gets with no tips.  I guess that makes it like real work...   Maybe the state could put the kids to work also - no use in just having them sit around, doing nothing for the food on their plates.  Damn lazy poor people...
