What's going on, Albuquerque?
//Additional lane closures for the Paseo del Norte/Interstate 25 interchange project are likely to cause additional delays for westbound commuters starting today.//
If they think that's bad, they'd better not look at the MRCOG 2035 Metropolitan Transportation Plan. Even if the region invests $6 billion dollars in transportation improvements, the west side is going to become even more of a hellacious place to live in the next ten to twenty years.
(Fun fact: MRCOG did a study as to what would happen if they shifted almost all of the growth onto the east side of the city. Interestingly, the sensible urban grid of Albuquerque could handle that growth with no perceptible increase in vehicle delay, and the small pockets of growth they kept on the west side still gridlocked it to no end)
