Anyone ever been in an APS portable without air conditioning? I have and it's hell.
I hope these kids find a safe place to live and will be going to school soon. As the article states, "It is a joint responsibility between parents, the school system and the community," said Lynn Pedraza, with the Albuquerque Public School System.
I have a soft spot for Johnny Tapia. He's had such a traumatic life and I hope meeting his birth father brings him some peace.

Comment by slamwagon on August 31, 2010 at 8:40am: I'm usually pretty quick to defend the use of portable buildings to house fluctuating student populations. However, after visitiing my old haunts during the primary voting season a few months ago, seeing the same portable I was in in 1992 kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Money was spent to remove/replace playground equipment, but not a single new structure had been built to date.
