Hunter, that's hilarious--if only it weren't so true.  I remember a prof asked us what we would like our starting wages to be when we finished our (grad) program---$35,000 was my asking price and honestly, that's probably unrealistic.

what I don't understand is why Schmid gets a housing allowance or a car allowance...  if he can't manage to pay for those things out of his own salary ( you know like the rest of us do) then I question his ability to manage the university's budget....

Memo to Town Park Plaza off of Eubank and I-40. You live in a semi-arid desert not a green pasture. They were fined for using too much water and wasting it. Makes face at them heeh

really? that shopping center has less land devoted to landscaping than would be required by the current zoning code. i'm dubious they're high usage customers, but i do suspect that whoever did their landscape & irrigation design didn't do a competent job at keeping the water on the landscape. perhaps that journalist didn't think too hard before writing.

Particularly when there is a perfectly good house ON CAMPUS which he could live in FOR FREE and then WOULDN'T NEED A CAR.  Pisses me off that a)the man even GETS a car and house allowance and then b)he chooses to live as far as possible from Albq. so he burns the maximum amount of gasoline just getting to and from work.  Grrrr, grrrrr, grrr.

 

Now I'm crabby.

So Schmidly comes here from Oklahomely a couple years ago and is already an expert of New Mexican economic demographics?  Its probably true that none of the people he ever meets cannot affort a tuition hike.  That doesn't mean that his little bubble world has anything to do with the way the rest of us live.

Towne Park Plaza is the townhome development just south of the shopping center. If I remember correctly, they have an HOA that requires green front lawns. Boo. Hiss.

Yes Towne Park are townhomes but they got fined too for overwatering

Yes as stated by Jeff they mean the shopping center if the reporter had put the address there would not have been the confusion.
