What's going on, Albuquerque?
Is anyone else concerned about the fact that ESPN apparently reported that UNM has no fall classes?
VERY entertaining (football) game on Saturday - the UofA was written off by ESPN, then scores two touchdowns in the last 42 seconds of the game for its first lead/win. At night, the UofA basketball team was losing to Florida by 6 with a minute to go, then took its first lead/win with 7 seconds to go. The cardiac 'Cats are back! Both teams!
UNM's victory over NMSU reminded me of the Butler victory - there's no stars on the team, but the team works together as more than just a sum of its parts. Congrats Lobos! (But eliminate one of the back-to-back games with NMSU - maybe space them a couple months apart??? )
Mister Hinkydink, I do believe you meant Drummer.
I noticed the comment about classes- i am guessing that they were there over fall break-
The story I always heard about the Volcano Hoax was that it was perpetrated by Ed Abbey and friends. He was a student at UNM in the late 40's through 1956, but I'm not sure he was here in 1947.
This story was told me in the early 90's by a friend who fantasized about recreating the Hoax in order to freak out morning drivers who might think that the End Times had come and they had been left behind.

So, anyone out there have a bunch of old tires lying around and some time to kill on Thursday night?
