Don't know if it makes any difference, but I understand the 17-YO got the gun from "the street," not home.

Thanks SJ - I was relying on the report in the linked story, which said "playing with a parent's handgun". Where did you see this new information? If you send me the link, I'll add it above.

Americans and guns. A deadly combination, from the child being shot that you called our attention to, to deer hunting fathers shooting their sons or vice versa. Someone should keep all the headlines from just one paper for a year and post them on Dec. 31.
