One year contracts only work if that is the industry norm. Otherwise you only get the candidates who couldn't make the cut for multi-year opportunities and you have to wonder why. How does it go? What works everywhere else destined to fail in NM?
I believe Brooks' contract is a "rolling" three year contract to which he got a one year extension. I doubt he's going anywhere. Also, he's pretty close to retirement age isn't he?
A 2008 Journal article gave candidate Brook's age at 55. He could easily go another five years.
I don't understand the problem with owning a weapons arsenal. I mean, according to the NRA, doesn't the Second Amendment give citizens the right to be armed like a militia? I presume the problem wasn't the guns, but something else.
