One year contracts only work if that is the industry norm.  Otherwise you only get the candidates who couldn't make the cut for multi-year opportunities and you have to wonder why.  How does it go?  What works everywhere else destined to fail in NM?

I believe Brooks' contract is a "rolling" three year contract to which he got a one year extension.  I doubt he's going anywhere.  Also, he's pretty close to retirement age isn't he?

A 2008 Journal article gave candidate Brook's age at 55.  He could easily go another five years.

I don't understand the problem with owning a weapons arsenal.  I mean, according to the NRA, doesn't the Second Amendment give citizens the right to be armed like a militia?  I presume the problem wasn't the guns, but something else.
