Two big forest fires burning this morning, neither of them contained...remember when we had monsoon season instead of fire season?

At least the river won't completely dry up, for now.

And at least it actually rained somewhere...I'm feeling pretty jealous of Jarales and Bingham.

Isotopes Park is a great place to catch a game and watch those storm clouds (or clouds of smoke) roll in. Some folks in Vegas are taking notice as they plan their own new park.

Speaking of AAA baseball, the 'Topes are about to get some competition down in El Paso.(Whatever the NY Times thinks, our downtown has a lot more life to it than EP's does!)

Downtown El Paso does have some great old buildings, though, many of them built by the same firm that built this historic Albuquerque landmark. It just got new owners. (Their plans for the old Journal/Tribune offices downtown sound pretty cool too).

Watched the clouds roll over, heard the thunder, dog was anxious, could kind of smell the moisture, then it was over. No rain. Nada.
