Really! I wonder if that explains how I came to see Peter Dinklage at La Cumbre a year or two ago.
Martin is a long-time local, Benny, dating back to way before his current fame. I actually spotted him (for some reason) at the UNM Architecture and Planning graduation a few years ago, but lacked the presence of mind to take a pic with him. (My thoughts at the time were more along the lines of "That guy looks just like George R.R. Martin.")
I saw an article in an online news site which showed his houses in Santa Fe (apparently he has 2 or 3 all side-by-side). It was written by a fan who met him in town and became an officer in his fan club or something. All in all it sounds like he's a down to earth, friendly guy who has worked hard for a long time in order to become an overnight sensation. They did point out that he likes to hit Maria's for dinner and that showing a bit of cleavage might improve the odds of being asked to sit down and have a drink. I can't vouch for the correctness of the article, but that's what it said.
