Why is it that when a public employee is arrested and cannot go to work due to that arrest, they are given paid administrative leave? Lets change that to if you get arrested and you cannot go to work then, your fired.

Comment by hettie on January 14, 2013 at 1:53pm: Not everyone who is arrested is guilty of a crime and firing someone solely because they were arrested presumes guilt.

Child pornography is one of the most heinous crimes I can think of and I hope that if these people are found guilty they're punished as harshly as possible under the law. We really shouldn't be shocked when people like this are found to have jobs that bring them into contact with children--how else will they gain the trust of kids, parents and communities? So freaking horrific.
