Morning Fix - Who's Minding the Bait Car?

    •    100 cop cars and a helicopter look like a parade...even if children get presents at the end of it.  Especially since it was done with our money.  And the police chief seems to need some good news.

    •    Just another gem from the editorial staff over at ABQ Journal:  Sunday's twisted defense of minority rule.

    •    UNM Hospital may have to pay out $165,000,000 (!!!) to settle claims that it failed to give out latest drugs to children with leukemia.

    •    Family Dollar store held up by frequent customer holding a knife.  He would have been better off holding a mask.

    •    Legislative Finance Committee and Teachers' Union president agree:  Raise admission standards for education majors.

    •    It's official!  NM appeals court rules a week has seven days.

    •    The arches may be golden, but the building has to be brown.

    •    Cold, snow, and some chillin' students.

    •    City Somebody's camera takes pictures of all riders on bosque bike trail.  Want to hear their lame excuse?

So the County borrowed cameras from the City?

Good point Hunter.  The jurisdictions are so confusing on the bosque bike trail, I'm not sure whose camera it is...but the city seems the least likely owner.

Sounds like there's an MOU between at least the county and MRCOG on the cameras.  I understand the embedded loop system, but I'm not entirely clear of the purpose of a camera. Perhaps it allows for different types of bikes - such as a tandem, where two people would trip it only once - or allows the data crunchers to count the number of bikes in a tight peloton, where the sensors would be less accurate.

The cops take the kids to Walmart every year. Get over it.

Very clever headline:  Who is minding the bait car?

I think the driver of the bait car takes the kids' imaginary friends to Walmart and buys them toys for $100 in Monopoly money

There was a sign up for awhile on 98th street that flashed BAIT CAR IN AREA.  I'm assuming it was to discourage the thefts.  Seemed odd though to be advertising something that is meant to be covert...
