Not only is the Albuquerque Film Festival
happening this month, things are also hoppin' and a boppin' at the Santa Fe Railroad's old Roundhouse in downtown Albuquerque. The entire place was bathed in movie set lights Friday night until the wee hours of the morning. A good bit of the South Broadway neighborhood was also lit up inadvertently. Somehow there was an absence of the usual clang-clang-clang
from the switching engines during the night. And unlike during the filming of T-5
, no explosions were heard nor were calls for Places; Action
Not sure what they are filming (help appreciated on this). Seems too early for filming the next season of Br Ba
...A Security Guard told me that he thought they were preparing to film scenes from Lemonade II
...Sorry to say, I had not heard of Lemonade I
. I guess it is a good thing that movie lot security guards aren't themselves 'movie fans'.
[I have learned that they are filming...Lemonade Mouth
, a Disney channel movie.]
Huge lights aimed at the Roundhouse were set up at an auto shop along Commercial. This cool cat of the feline persuasion decided to go Full Frontal onto its own not so private lit street stage
While driving past the lights next to the tracks, I imagined myself to have the same feelings as actor Richard Dreyfus when he sat in his utility truck under a spaceship beside the railroad tracks in the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind
. Dreyfus probably had no stuffed animals on his dash, however.
Here's to another successful Albuquerque film shoot. Merde/Break a Leg
