Prepare To Be Astounded: Officer Dear Shocker!

Jeremy J. Dear, the same ABQ policeman who killed Mary Hawkes, is our tenth highest-paid city employee?

That’s right.  According to the list published in this morning’s Albuquerque Business First, Officer Jeremy J. Dear made $118,641.17 last year.  That’s almost $15,000 more than the mayor!

Dear shot Hawkes last April following a chase after the 19-year-old abandoned a stolen truck.  She was shot three times.  The case received national attention, including this piece from New Hampshire which has additional information regarding Dear and violence.

Speaking of our mayor, two years ago his office gave Jeremy Dear and a couple of other APS officers a “Friday’s Heroes” award for discovering a starving horse and feeding him hay.

So what?  He worked a lot of overtime.  Isn't that what you want is for someone to be paid for the hours they work?

Police, judge and jury. Takes a lot of OT to do your job and the job of others.

No lapel video. No gun found. Busy night for cover ups...

NM seems to be a cesspool of poor leadership and backwards thinking. I say poor leadership because nothing is ever done to discourage the savage behavior exhibited by those hired to protect communities. I say backward thinking because the communities tolerate it.
Take a look at this piece.
