Tomorrow our State legislature is hearing testimony and possibly voting on a domestic partnership bill. Gov. Richardson has promised to pass it, and it looks like we finally have the votes for this important civil rights law to pass. I was listening to the local big Christian radio station, and, as usual, they are resorting to fear tactics to try to motivate listeners to call their congresspersons saying, "we must act now to protect our children and our grandchildren!" uh, yeah, from what? My favorite was a DJ's rant saying that if this law passes that if a church advertises for a music minister that the church may be forced to hire a known practicing homosexual. I wanted to grab the mike and scream, "guess what? your music minister is already gay!"

Let us hope & pray (in our own particular way) that this bill passes & we can direct our energies toward worrying about something worthwhile, like getting our soldiers home or finding jobs for people.

I'm not saying that a domestic partnership bill is not worthwhile. I'm sayin let's just skip all this crap & let who ever wants to get married and we as a society get over ourselves.
