Taco Obsession - North Valley Taco Heaven

Obsession of the taco variety.

This amazing family owned taqueria on 4th has saved us from hunger many times....we went nearly every day during our kitchen renovation...which also coincided with the world cup... so there was always a game on!

I find myself there late on weekend nights after a Belly-beat performance at Marble brewery for some late night noms....they are open until 1:00am on Friday and Saturday and feature delicious specials being prepared curb-side then too.

This is the ceviche tostada ($3.50). Duane ordered for the first time yesterday, he declared it "yummy".

But the real deal here is the TACOS! Oh the tacos...so good, so fresh...such a deal too! Screw "taco hell"...for .99 cents you can get one of these....

many varieties to choose from (all for the meat inclined)...asada, pollo, chorizo, pastor...etc. They also have many other wonderful menu items...but its hard to stray from the tacos (for me).

Next time your in the North Valley (just northwest of the North 4th VSA theater) check out TACOMEX.

You had me at Taco Heaven. Then you had me at 1:00 am. Then you had me at ceviche. Heck, you had me!
Please tell me they have tacos de lengua . . . Then it really will be heaven!

Actually, their mothership is from Denver, they have the usual taco toppings off to the side so you can pile them on (hot pickled carrots - hmmm...) and they do have lengua, which is one of my faves, too!

I went there for the first time on Tuesday. I got a torta del jamon, the bread was that squishy, but holding together way it is supposed to be, it was warm and yummy. My kid got a bean and cheese burrito, and declared it good, we were not impressed with cheese fries. I would definitely go back.

Yes, lengua is great, along with cabeza (cheek meat).
