Charlie Musselwhite
When legendary bluesman Charlie Musselwhite released his first record, 1967's defiant Stand Back, the country was in the midst of an unpopular war and entering the slipstream of rapid cultural and political change. Fast forward four decades and not much has changed. Neither has Musselwhite's musical wanderlust nor his creative ambition.
His hunger to explore new sounds and possibilities resulted in an acclaimed 2007 collaboration with alt-rock institution Eddie Vedder on the Golden Globe-nominated soundtrack to the film Into The Wild. Charlie describes this give and take between himself and performers from other generations and different genres as "a conversation." It is an ongoing one that has been a key reason why his music remains so vital. Whether it's the rough river town of Memphis of his childhood, the rough South Side Chicago juke joints where he cut his teeth as a performer or the disillusioned Twenty First Century New Orleans, Musselwhite's music still speaks—loud and clear—to the soul with passion and grace.
Over the years, Musselwhite has released dozens of albums and has contributed to countless others including guesting on Bonnie Raitt's Grammy-award-winning Longing In Their Hearts, The Blind Boys of Alabama's Grammy-winning Spirit of the Century, Tom Waits' Mule Variations and even playing the driving harmonica on INXS' "Suicide Blonde." He was the longtime compadre and musical partner to his friend John Lee Hooker. Musical institutions have honored Musselwhite, too. With 18 W.C. Handy awards to his credit and 6 Grammy nominations, he is firmly entrenched in musical history. Musselwhite has also been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Monterey Blues Festival and the San Javier Jazz Festival in Spain and the Mississippi Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts.
Ryan McGarvey
Opening the show will be one of Albuquerque's hottest blues performers - Ryan McGarvey! At age 22, McGarvey has in a relatively short amount of time not only gained a national and international fan base, but admiration from his personal idols as well. Austin singer/songwriter Ian Moore raved, "Ryan's playing has the passion and exuberance of youth, but its further lifted by a deep dedication to his craft. His technique is awe-inspiring, but it's the dawning subtleties and emotional range that hints of the greatest possibilities."
In 2006 Ryan was named Guitar Center 's "Guitarmaggeddon: Next King Of The Blues" champion of New Mexico. In 2007 & 2008 he was named "Blues Act Of The Year", and was runner up for "Singer/Songwriter Of The Year" in The Weekly Alibi's Annual Readers Poll. In 2007 Ryan took home the New Mexico Music Award for "Blues Song Of The Year" for his song "Cryin' Over You", and was nominated for "Mainstream Rock Song Of The Year" for his song "The One That Got Away." Last year, he was named "Best Musician" in Albuquerque The Magazine's Annual "Best Of The City" Readers Poll.

More specifically, Dan Akroyd and John Belushi, in their roles as Jake and Elwood Blues, known as the Blues Brothers.

Hmm. Here is my dilemma. Kelly has completed one half of the assignment. Someone else has completed the other half. If either Kelly or Seth manages to complete the part they haven't done first, that person wins.

Kelly is the winner!
