This week's Two a Day was three days of yard work instead of the five days that I set myself as a goal. I just have to say eff it, I'm still getting a lot done and enjoying the process so I'm not going to fret about the arbitrary guidelines I've given myself. (It's not easy for me to do as evidenced by the fact that I even have to mention it.)

Monday:
I removed copious amounts of Thread Grass from the front yard of and weeded a few other odds and ends. I planted the Thread Grass in some pots on my front porch that had last years' dead plants in them. I lost track of time and went over my two hours but that was fine because it was such mellow work.

Tuesday:
Sick Day. I was sick last Thursday, too, and in the exact same way; I woke up headache-y and nauseous and it eased by the afternoon. I ate at the same restaurant this Monday night as I had last Wednesday night. I'm not naming names because none of my dining partners felt ill but the restaurant must use something that doesn't agree with my system (MSG?)

Wednesday:
I worked in the front yard again. My mother-in-law is back in town this weekend and she is bringing her close friends by the house so I wanted the place to look nice. I swept the porch, vigas, and walkways. I raked dried leaves away from the base of some plants where they had acted as insulation during the winter. I weeded a bit more and just generally tidied up the place.

apropos of nothing, look at how happy my globemallow is!

Thursday:
I worked in the side yard. I dug out some grass that had grown back in one of the areas where I "removed" it a couple of weeks ago. I put removed in quotation marks because I obviously didn't really remove it. I put the weed barrier down a little more securely this time and will put some gravel on top very soon.

Friday:
No yard work for Friday. I had a breakfast date with a friend who is having a big party soon. I get to do the decorations so we looked over the stuff I've gotten so far and had some tea. Then my climbing partner called to say that if I wanted to climb, it had to be right then because he was going on a bike ride at noon. So I went to Stone Age and climbed and by the time I was done, it was too hot out for yard work.

I am really enjoying the vicarious experience of yardwork. I'm too lazy to do my own.

I see that there's no climber's group on here, but I wonder how many there are. It might be nice to hook up with some folks. Hmmm...
