  • Frida Kahlo: Her photos: Exhibition Opening and Welcome Back Party - UNM Art Museum and the University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts are throwing a party to celebrate the opening of the exhibition: "Frida Kahlo- Her Photos"  and the beginning of the new academic year. The evening will feature music by DJ Halcyon and food by My Sweet Basil. Come dance, see great photography, and eat delicious food.
  • Parade of Playhouses 2017 - The Parade of Playhouses is an amazing annual fundraiser to support New Mexico Appleseed’s critical work addressing poverty in New Mexico. Each year the best and brightest design professionals and builders in the state are invited to create the most imaginative and over-the-top playhouses ever seen. These playhouses will be on display for several weeks at the Albuquerque BioPark Botanical Garden and will be visited by over 50,000 people, which will culminate with a sell-out gala auction event on August 25, 2017.
  • Swing Under the Stars - We had so much fun at the first Swing Dance night, we thought we’d do it again! Join us for another great night of swing dance music with the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra! You’ll be glad you did! Bring your dancing shoes and be prepared to stay on the dance floor, the band will keep you hopping all evening long!

  • Westside Summerfest - Come and do “The Twist” as the City of Albuquerque closes the Summerfest season at Westside Summerfest! Savor delicious food from one of many food trucks, shop from local artisans and grab a drink from the Microbrew Garden featuring local beer, wine and spirits. Enjoy free kids’ activities and entertainment from local bands at this free, family-friendly event. Get ready to dance and twist the summer away with a performance from the legendary artist Chubby Checker!
  • Rude Boy Cookie 3 Year Anniversary Block Party - Come celebrate Rude Boy Cookies 3rd Anniversary with live music, street vendors, not for profit village and of course good eats.

  • Tomato Fiesta - It is time to celebrate the great taste of Albuquerque grown tomatos with Albuquerque Area Extension Master Gardeners. There will be heirloom tomato tasting, free activities for the kids, live music by Alpha Blue Trio, gardening seminars, plant clinics and a garden trade fair along with cooking demonstrations and great food at the Master Gardener Tomato Cafe.
  • A Day of Mindfulness and Nature -A morning of tranquility and meditation led by Dug Corpolongo of Albuquerque Buddhist Fellowship lasting a few hours or longer. Click here to find out more.Wear comfortable clothes; bring water, snack or lunch, and an open mind. Local annual scifi/fantasy/comic etc convention starts today, 8/25, I would have mentioned this earlier, but I never see any ads for these local  conventions (maybe they don't like to advertise, even for free).
