Adelita

Where in Burque is Adelita? - The Door Edition

My mother put a new door in her den and said that I could have the old one to use when I remodel my house. I love this door. The door itself is plain, but solid, and has the most outrageous hammered iron embellishments. I can't wait to use it in my house.

I love a beautiful door. In my first Where in Burque post, I took a picture of the carved doors at Saggio's. Having eaten there a million times, it wasn't until that day I noticed the doors. There are so many plain and ugly doors that we walk through, sometimes we don't notice the really beautiful ones.

My daughter and I set out to find cool doors. We felt that we shouldn't take pictures of doors that were at private residences - we didn't want to be invasive. All the pictures we took are of doors in public places. When I got home to start working on this post, I was going to write about door metaphors. I decided I wasn't in the mood! Let's just have some fun and see if you recognize any of these really cool doors.

I assume that #5 is from a local synagogue. It's beautiful!

#4 is the NHCC, yeah? and I think #2 is Saggio's...maybe? I love the first one; very unassuming.
