We don't usually do the Sunday morning doughnut thing, but I was interested in checking this place out. It is located in the South Valley Economic Development Center and it is called
the the Zombie Cafe so how could I resist.

The drive from our house is short and takes us past Tingley Field. There were two baseball games going at 9:00 when we drove by.

Some choices

Our selections, Grape, Chai, Nutella, Chocolate glazed, Plain glazed and Espresso, Maple, Bacon

Espresso, Maple, Bacon and Chai

My kid enjoys the espresso, maple and bacon

The veggie ladies on the mural.
We enjoyed all of the flavors, I liked the Chai and essp, maple bacon best. The doughnuts had a nice texture were not too sweet.

Zombie Cafe is good addition to the area. Sadly, no brain themed foods but maybe later.

Bacon does not belong on doughnuts.

(Unless you're a zombie, perhaps)

Ah, come on Ray. It is the classic sweet/salt combo.

What a great mural! They told me it was done by students from a local charter high school. The plaque with their names should be up soon. I recognized Cesar Chavez and "El Senador" Dennis Chavez in it. The "veggie ladies" are of course the "three sisters" of native American cuisine: corn, beans, and squash.

This place is great! I love the doughnut variety and creative flavors. The maple espresso bacon doughnut is the perfect breakfast flavor combo. They also serve good coffee. There's more than just doughnuts on the menu as well. This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

My zombie-loving daughter HAS to go here! And I will also bring her bacon-lovin' brother. Thanks for this great post. Do you have their hours?

Yes, 8-3 Monday-Friday and 9-3 on Sunday.

This reminds me of a Portland Oregon donut hole.
