Hello! Old School webbie here: Can you fix the link on the ABQ Chicken Keepers group page to Old School's chickens class? The permanent link (since we'll continue to offer chicken-keeping classes!) is now: http://abqoldschool.com/register/eggs/
Hi KT. I also don't have chickens, but love them! There is a beautiful black (with green and purple iridescent sheen) Indian Runner Duck that was "rescued" and needs a good home ASAP. Please let me know if there is anyone you think might be interested. S/he seems a real sweetie, and in excellent condition.
I don't have chickens but I do have clear polycarbonate panels for greenhouse application. 16 mm double insulted type. Herk 907-2713 if interested or if you know someone who wants a year around garden?
Hi KT-
I am looking into roofing costs for a home my partner and I are hoping to buy. I noticed your post from last year and wondered if you ever hired a roofing company? If so, which did you use? How long do you think tar and gravel flat roofs usually last?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Amanda
Hello,
I read the Journal article about you and your flock. It said that your rabbits and the chickens are in the same enclosure. Are they in separate pens ? I have been trying to figure how to make space for chickens without getting rid of our bunnies. I am not crazy about a bunnies on top birds on the bottom thing like Joel Salatin uses. I would be interested to know how you have everyone set up.
Thanks
Hi KT,
I want to learn to hoop and wondered if you knew of any place in town that sells weighted hoops for adults. I bought a 'toy' hoop at Kmart and it is really hard to keep it going. Hope you can help!
Sincerely,
Carol
KT,
I enjoyed the article in the Paper, I had no idea that there was a community for backyard chickens. We started the backyard chicken project at the first of the year, now we have a beautiful hen house and coop,( The Holiday Hen) and we raised 6 Buff Opingtons and 19 Americuana roosters. The roosters were sent to keep the hens warm in transport. We have culled our flock down to just 4 hens and they are about 6 weeks old. I would really like to see the other coops and display mine, my son, daughter and I had a great time building it.
Please let me know where to post or to look for the other coops locally.
Hi KT-
I am finishing up a short article on hooping, and would love to get your input. What do you like about it? Why do you think it is becoming so popular? Please email me at aschoenberg@abqjournal.com or call 823-3923.
Not sure how you came across that graywater article, but I know one of the people pictured, Alan. Cool guy, he is, and a passionate bike commuter and vegan. I'll have to arrange for a tour...
Ummmm, no it’s not mine, just the highlight of my existence a couple years back getting to touch it. If I actually owned the General Lee, do you think I would be in front of a computer asking chicken questions, or out jumping over cop cars and stuff?
Sounds interesting. I'm booked up tight until the second week of December. What did you have in mind? Would you be made if I didn't have a chicken? I should have some once I finish building our new place in the valley.

Could you put the BernCo 4-H fair info on the Urban Chickens Calendar section?
Thanks
