Life, food, events, and community in Albuquerque, NM

The wife and I were in Albuquerque on Friday, trying to work out where we're going to live when we grow up and move to ABQ, looking into job prospects.

You know how you can tell I was there?

Because it was raining. It is always raining when I am in Albuquerque. Not to mention the tornadoes I caused when I flew through Denver.

So, when I move, Albuquerque will have its own rain god. I keep telling people that I am moving for the better weather, but I have yet to actually experience it!

Wow! A real live superhero right here! You've already blown the secret identity part, but will you create an excellent suit for your new superhero duties?

Well, that explains alot! I was wondering where all that rain came from last week.

Great idea Aunt Money! My avatar is a waterfall, maybe I can incorporate the image into my suit somehow. I think spandex is out, though. My butt is humungous.

JT - the last time you saw a good rain was probably when I was there in February, around the 23-25.

IMO, a rainy day in NM is good weather! Please feel free to bring all the rain you can muster!

Okay, so maybe not spandex. A nice yellow slicker probably won't be very slimming either, but maybe you can tailor it a little.

That's funny. So, have you made it a habit of visiting New Mexico in the middle of May for something like 50 years? Seems like it's always a bit cool and wet right in the middle of May. Always just in time for outdoor graduations and picnics and when I went to work - out doors of course - after finals were over.

I can't remember which Douglas Adams novel has the guy who is loved by the rain clouds. They follow him around.
Perhaps an umbrella as part of the suit to distract the eye from other areas?

I think it was Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul, the Douglas Adams novel. I was sort of thinking along those lines.=, that in the southwest, the rain clouds love me.

I'll be back sometime in July. We shall see. . .
