Our good friend and rock and roll legend Bo Diddley passed away today. I found the following on Wikipedia,

He spent many years in New Mexico, not only as a musician, but as a law officer. He lived in Los Lunas from 1971 to 1978 while continuing his musical career. Bo Diddley served for two and a half years as Deputy Sheriff in the Valencia County Citizens' Patrol; during that time he personally purchased and donated three highway patrol pursuit cars.

Hey Bo Diddley, we'll miss you!

I first saw Bo Diddley when he put on a surprise concert at the 1st Africian american day at the state fair must have been 1987 (he bumped Up with people). To see a legend up close ding a free concert is a thrill I will never forget. I tried to catch every show he put on after that and he never disapointed. He always wore his shield on his hat. he will be missed.

Wow, I didn't know he lived here. A couple of years ago one of my buddies on the bass forum had a one-time gig playing bass for him.

Question: Who do you love? Answer: Bo Diddley (The angels are going to be listening to some hard-driving guitar rhythms up there.)

Who else do you love? Answer: That would be Lady Bo, the curvaceous gown wearing rhythm guitar player in the clip.

Oh shit, I honestly meant to link to Denise Tessier's story. I'm sorry, sometimes the cut+paste doesn't work right.

here's the actual link. Didn't mean to do that.

Bo was a household word in Placitas in the days (70s?) ... being a regular part of the music scene at the old Thunderbird Bar here (since burned down). Rest in Peace Bo.
