blogging withdrawal or something like that, plus two upcoming events

So...for about a year I blogged about environmental issues in New Mexico. There are a number of reasons why I started doing that, and a number of others why I stopped.

But really, none of those reasons are very important right now, when I'm trying to procrastinate work on a Sunday afternoon and when I have an Inbox full of emails from people who are writing to me about environmental issues in their communities or about events going on within their organizations.

(And I'm not even going to get started on this whole climate change thing, which every magazine in the universe is running stories about (some lame stories; some great ones) and which our elected officials don't deem important enough to get their butts in gear and try and do something about. At any rate, I did want to let folks know about two events happening in Albuquerque this week.

Oh, and beyond all this, I reignited my love affair with the Sandias last week by hiking La Luz with my husband on my birthday. It's so easy when you live in Abq to take those beauties for granted. Sure, I marvel at their pink color at the end of each and every day, but sometimes I forget that they're not just a one-dimensional buttress to the city.

I also just finished reading the graphic novel, As the World Burns: 50 Things You Can Do To Stay in Denial.
