How is the PNM things an expose? They've been doing this for years, which is why I still write a check and stick a stamp on my payment. Until they get with the program and let you pay online for free, I'll keep writing my one measely check a month to them.
PNM's online free service, which i signed up for this past summer, requires you to give them your banking info (which you do anyway every time you write them a check) and then they supposedly process your bill for you. EVERY month (except november) since i signed up for this service i have gotten a notice from them that there is a problem with my transaction and it won't be processed on time, this despite having enough in the bank and all the numbers punched in correctly. they are having major issues with their billing/collections systems there. perhaps EFP can fix this?
Apartment Nomad: I was one native Albuquerquean who was saying that the loft development downtown was wrong-headed--before everybody and their dog was building a loft downtown.
Well, it worked in downtown Denver and that is what they're looking at, I hear. The 16th Street (outdoor) mall there is a big success, lively as all get out, but yes, Denver is big(ger).
Not only is Denver bigger, but I will bet that Denver's downtown had more than just bars going for it before all the lofts went up. Like Apartment Nomad said, you need to have the services and amenities FIRST, then the lofts. Not the other way around. I mean, I guess it's great to live around the corner from the Launchpad when you're 24, but not many 24-year olds have $200,000 to drop on a 900 sq. foot loft. I actually would question the sanity of anyone of any age dropping that kind of money on such real estate but then, I have always been fairly practical that way.
