The gray dawn, the Times crossword puzzle and a cup of good strong coffee. That's where I like to start.

Excellent - I agree - except for the crossword puzzle - and I just discovered a coconut creamer for coffee - a little goes a long way..

When I feed my friends or play in the dirt or watch the birds while lolling in my backyard porch swing and...those early mornings or late evenings when it's cool, the roads are empty, my hair gets all tangled in the breeze and I feel as though I could just keep driving to parts unknown...

when i create a new sausage and someone else can enjoy it, when i drink some good beers by the grill w/ some friends, when i look into the eyes of my dogs and we both get it, when i meet a new artist/business person/friend, the sound of the water running in the ditch...

I find mine at around 3:45 each weekday afternoon, when my kids get home from 1st and 2nd grade.....and start to teach me about life through their eyes.....

walking through the bosque any time of year, conversing with my kids, cooking for family and friends, reading a good book, writing and losing track of the outside world in the process...
