No fasting today. Unless you count the six hours in between brunch and sunch -an unintentional consequence of a spontaneous mall trip and poor planning.

I'm not even a mall person. I just found one of the few public scales to be one that you pay 50 cents for at the GNC at the mall. Yes its strange, I chalk it up to body conscious bikini country, but south Miami has scales at all the major grocery stores and what not. So I don't know what else to use to calibrate my own scale on.

This was my only venture outside of the house today. But my parents will be in late tomorrow night. I'm thinking about taking advantage of the opportunity to hold their hands and venture into parts of Albuquerque I might not otherwise experience without a group. ...Something cheap would be nice....

Any suggestions anyone could provide would be quite wonderful.

Comment by SoyJames on March 19, 2008 at 9:17pm: Cheap and an area you wouldn't normally wander into alone sure sounds like dinner at El Norteno to me. Mexican food as opposed to "New Mexican", so much lighter on the chile and cheese (which I am told is easier on newcomers and tourist bellies, pfffft.... whimps...). And the owners are two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Anyway, after dinner step across the street to the "ice cream shop". I'm not sure they actually have any ice cream there but it sure is interesting and delicious. Be prepared to practice your Spanish there.
