Tonight's the big one. The full moon lumbers over the Sandias tonight around 7:45 just as twilight descends on the city, making for loads of photo serendipity.

Oh that's a great idea. I just had a meeting with someone who said he woke up and his whole house was flooded with light at something like 4am.
Yep, took that photo with a regular ole camera last night near Pat Hurley park on the West side. Going back out again tonight for the prime time show...
I was going to work about 6:50 this morning and the moon looked 10 times its normal size and translucent, naturally by the time I found a place to park and got the point and shoot out of the trunk it had dipped below the horizon
I was biking home on Silver last night, and saw it start to rise over the church on Yale right by Annapurna. I pulled over and watched as it broke free from the clutches of earth and extend up into the sky, gigantic and yellow. I don't ever remember seeing the moon that large.
Were any of you out at the volcanoes last night for the full moon? I was, and saw 3 other people waiting as well. We were all transfixed when it finally peered, all yellow and huge, over the mountain's silhouette.
We wanted to wake up early this morning and take photos of the moon setting over the volcanoes, but um, that didn't happen ;-)
Perfect timing moon! Just when my parents were in town! We had a chance to have dessert on the patio and watch the moon rise over Duke City. We have a skylight in our bedroom so we also got a chance to watch it pass over us as we fell asleep. Beautiful.
