Hello Beautiful People! I hope you are feeling as fabulous as me on this fine day in the Duke City, the Center of the Universe. Well, you KNOW it is, because, well; we're here, Silly! In case you've been living in a cave on the set of Lost, maybe you've missed hearing about Oprah's latest bookclub installment, A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle. A good read. His discussion on ego is interesting and I think right on the mark. Most humans' egos are what get them in trouble. Deflating the ego, or the attempted elimination of it is a noble cause for us humans. Pretty much all of our worrisome thoughts are straight from our ego. What we are is really vast, spacious, pure consciousness. And we're connected completely to-in-and around the quantum field, or the Grand Unified Field, as one of my heroes, John Hagelin, PhD, calls it..And deflating the ego does NOT mean becoming a wimp. Actually the opposite. it's empowering. It's liberating.
A lot of humans are addicted to living in a state of unhappiness. They manifest with their thoughts circumstances to keep them in that crappy unhappy or resentful state. All the while they await something outside of themselves to "make them happy." It's the other way around. Spend some time in the quiet, and you'll find as I have that in that state of stillness is pure bliss; a feeling of that vast spacious "oneness" with everything. I love it, and I meditate regularly so I can simply "be." I find this also allows me to enjoy the present moment- really be present in the present. When I'm out on my bike way out northwest of town where I ride sometimes, it's so peaceful. I can let the mechanics of my body riding my bike fall into the background of my consciousness, and become one with the sunshine, the sky, the mountains, the road, the air, the chirping birds- even the cars passing by when they do. I AM consciousness behind the body, the moving legs, the balancing act on a bicycle, etc. And being in this state of pure consciousness/total connectivity/being present to the present gives me a sense of purpose and fearlessness; knowing I am capable of living a life for the betterment of my planet. Knowing I can do anything, I'm unstoppable. An egoless human is an uber-human. Think Mother Teresa. Think Jesus.
One more thing: To have a friend, BE a friend. What do I like in a friend? Unwavering support, affirmation of who I am, listening without judgment and not giving advice unless I ask for it, and a give and take as far as getting together and nurturing the friendship. Oh yeah, one more thing: humor and intelligence. That's a must-have for me. So how do I attract those folks into my life? By visualizing the feeling of having them there, and then BEING that out in the world of humans. And now I've got the most amazing selection of high quality humanoids that ever walked this planet and beyond!
Go out and be amazing! NOW!!
