I decided to schlep the kids out to the zoo yesterday because there was a Mother's Day symphony going on. Sadly, my kids are not as into classical music so I didn't get to hear much of it (though I did get to see the child prodigy pianist - how lovely that was!), but honestly I had a great time with my children going all over the zoo. The place was more packed than I had ever seen it, so that meant we had to park several blocks away. It turned out to be a good thing, because on foot is a great way to get some photos. One of the cool things about older parts of Albuquerque are the murals and tile art, and I was able to snap a few photos along the way:
And of course, the grocery store with all the "featured" items mostly in Spanish...
I was bummed that I missed the concert. I loved looking at your pictures because they bring back memories. I used to live with my then boyfriend on 10th and Iron, just a bit South of where you took the pictures. In fact, I now have the one with the Virgin as my wallpaper. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day.
Thanks for the nice comments all.
Marisol, that's pretty cool that you're using my photo!
Chantal, thanks for the invite. I uploaded the mural photos to my Flickr account but I can't seem to figure out how to add them to the group page.
Gran, I'd like to get to Tingley Beach this summer. I kept telling my boys we'd go fishing there last summer and never got around to it...maybe soon.
Ray, thank you! I had a lovely Mother's Day - mostly ;)
