I moved to Albuquerque over seven months ago. My first week living here happened to be the week of
Balloon Fiesta. I was in awe. I had never seen anything like the Burque, nor felt anything like that feeling of awe and vastness that came over me my first morning of sunrise and balloons as far as the eye could see. One of my coworkers told me one day that Albuquerque was one of the top ten photographed places in the world. I had to wonder if this was true. I can't help but question this concept, especially when thinking about all the other amazing monuments around the world.
But then I found Duke City Fix and began to perouse
the Flickr community. Everyday is something new. And everyday I see a part of this city in a different way - thanks to the creative eyes of some amazing people and cameras.
Because of this, we were really interested in having the participation of our communities photographers. Many of them will be showing their work at the first ever DukeCityFix.com Art and Craft extravaganza! The photos above are just a taste of the beauty that will be seen at this Friday's opening at Verb. These are all pieces belonging to the lovely and talented
Susan See.
Starting out with a Kodak 110 camera when she was 11 years of age, Susan began viewing the world thru a rectangular window and never looked back. With a background in photojournalism and fine-art photography, her images imbue a sense of well-crafted spontaneity. Her main interest is in documentary photography with portraits and concerts vying for 2nd place.
Susan's work may also be viewed at www.susanseephotography.biz.
Additional photographers participating include:

Raine Klover (photography/mixed media)
