The state of radio everywhere is pretty sad. I encourage everyone to give some love to Santa Fe's indiesf.com . Streaming for now, working on getting a broadcast signal. Very much like KCRW or KEXP.
KRQE Ruiz story: good thing we have a morning newspaper still. I can't believe the "gentleman's agreement" we have in this town with TV personalities and potentially bad publicity. You don't hear KOB (and I assume KOAT, I don't watch them anymore) reporting the Ruiz lawsuit story, just like for the few tv personality drunk driving incidents I didn't see any TV newscast report them. They were only reported in the newspaper to the best of my recollection. If you have to ask why there are still newspapers, it is because there is the freedom to report stuff you see snuffed from being reported on local tv.
As for the trial, I can't wait to see how it turns out, especially considering Ruiz's lawyer, the male equivalent of Gloria Allred. He must have serious ego withdrawl any day that his name isn't in the newspaper or on tv.
Univision radio sale - I"m glad to get another sports station (for the chance of more live sporting events on the dial when I'm out and about until wi-fi comes to Albuquerque en masse) and I don't think Ian-Peein'-Martin needs to worry because that station will probably affiliate itself with one of the two worst sports radio networks. Ian should be glad to work at a station with ESPN radio, by far the best of the three.
