If you knew you were ordering your last meal, and you could get it from any Albuquerque restaurant (or combination of restaurants), what would it be?

Wow . . . I can see I've got a lot of research to do before my actual last meal!

For now, I'd start at Perico's (off Coors) for a couple of beef tacos with guacamole (limiting myself to two instead of the usual six-pack, since I've got to save some room). Then, I'd cruise contentedly to Siam Cafe for a bowl of tom kha gai. Next, I'd head over to Paul's Monterey Inn, stopping along the way at Quarters to pick up a bottle of Amarone to smuggle in to Paul's, where I'd order the peppered rib eye. Rather than go for dessert, I'd dive into the cellar at Zinc for baked brie with compote, served by Meghan, while Chris Dracup and Tommy Elskes sang me into the next world (or the next town, if that's what the question meant), with Alex Morales on cajon. Since it's virtually impossible to get Black Maple Hill 18-year-old rye in this town, I'd bring some in a flask, or if that's against the rules, I'd sip on Macallan's 18 and still depart happy.

(Sorry to say, though I love Barelas, El Paiso, El Norteno, Los Equipales, Garcia's [4th & Mountain], El Patio, and many other local places, my favorite Mexican/New Mexican foods are outta town. But, y'all have given me some other local places to check out.)

Probably a large combination plate (green) from Mis Amigos on Juan Tabo...formerly Dos Amigos on 4th.

A Frontier Breakfast burrito with sausage and smothered in their salsa. Add one of their Frontier rolls on the side with some coffee from Flying Star.

I'd scarf a cubano from relish, then travel back in time to get some baby backs from Robbs Ribs (RIP), mosy over to Rt 66 for some of ernie's liver and onions, and wrap it all up with a few cart rounds at amerasia! Now I'm hungry - off to lunch!

Yeah, I'm not entirely certain, but I've been thinking about this, and I'm pretty sure it would have to be something with chopped green from the Frontier. Breakfast burrito no eggs with beans and a side of fries? Maybe? I'm too relativist with my palate to be good at this question.

Or maybe Pad King Tofu at Siam Cafe with extra ginger and basil?

Oh geez...hmrph.

Oh yeah, Siam Cafe! Yummy!

Breakfast? Coffee at home with biscochitos.

Lunch would be green chili cheese Itsa with cherry Sprite from Lota' Burger. Yummmy!

Best snack in the world would be taquitas with guacamole and a small order of 'Steak in Rough' from the old Mac's Drive-in.

No question, my best and last meal would be from "Chen's" Chinese Food on Juan Tabo and N. of Central. I've been eating there since the early '80's. Always good and delicious. I take out or eat there regularly. That would be dinner.

Dessert would be from the old Heidi Pies. A fluffy peanut surprise with bananas and whipped cream.

I wish.

That's a hard one! Copelands is one of my favorites, but I also love El Charritos on Central. It would depend on my mood at the time.

Wood grilled chicken with sweet potatoes at Copelands or large combination plate(green) at El Charritos.

Sandwich from Relish, Soup and cookies from Roma Deli, Vanilla Ice cream soda from The Model, and I saved the best for last.......Cheese Enchiladas with Red from the Frontier

Ooh, I forgot about the Cubano from Relish. That might be on my list as well.

First i'd make my red chile based marinade for some skirt steaks to be grilled, my farfalle and an il vicino ipa for dessert.

Oh and a hamburger from Monte Carlo's on Central. And I love BBQ from Powdrell's on 4th St. And I'd finish it all off with some gelato from EccoGelato. Mmmmmmm!
