Have I left anyone off the list? I know lots of famous people have lived here, but not too many were actually born here.

Nobel Peace prize winner Ralph Bunche was not born here, but lived in Albuquerque as a child - near 7th and Lomas, I believe.

I know Steve-O (from MTV's Jackass) lived here when he was in high school (HHS) and Vivian Vance (from I Love Lucy) moved here as an adult and was active with the Little Theater until she got famous...Ethel was from Albuquerque too. Jim Morrison passed through town for a few years as a kid while his father was at KAFB, but I don't imagine he really ever counted as a Burqueno. Jane Dornacker (1947-1986) graduated from HHS around 1965...she had a role in "The Right Stuff" and was a successful radio announcer, musician and comedian who rubbed shoulders with R. Crumb among others. Sadly, most people only remember her death in a helicopter crash over the Hudson River while she was doing a traffic broadcast...

Mike Judge (of beavis and butthead fame) is from here and his mom is a teacher with APS

How could I forget Mike Judge? His father is a very well known archaeologist...it's interesting, too, that Beavis and Butthead attended Highland High School...

Hello all.

I know this isn't a person, but what about the Altair? I don't know where it is now because the building is torn down, but there used to be one on display in Tapy Hall at UNM.

Hey Pat. I work at the NM Museum of Natural History and Science and we have a permanent exhibit which might interest you. It's called STARTUP and traces the history of Microsoft here in ABQ. You can find the Altair here in all it's glory, plus a bunch of other cool computer relics from the 70's! Anyone for a game of Pong?!

Xibit of Mtv's Pimp my ride fame attended Cibola High School before eventually getting kicked out.

I think Annabeth Gish was born here. Love her. Oh, and Benito Martinez, who is Aceveda on The Shield is from here, too.

I have heard that the Domenici family house is that old white house with green trim on Candelaria some blocks west of Valley High School. Anybody know? It looks like an old original farm house.

Maybe, but I know Pete and Co used to live on Mesa Verde just off of Carlisle and Lomas. They were neighbors of a family friend. He lived there before running for Senator.

There's already an assload of Maloofs on there but you may as well throw in George Jr. as well -- he owns the Palms in Las Vegas, and (since we were in the same class in middle school) gives me a really low Bacon number for folks like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.

Olympic gymnast Chainey Umphrey is a native too.
