I don't think I'd have been able to achieve my career goals had I been married. Too much risk taking, and too much moving around...

Another advantage to being single -- and this is a big one in my view -- is not having to live up to unrealistic expectations...

I can play the same song on my iPod over and over until I get sick of it, which is usually takes a lot longer for me than it does for anyone else. "Aren't you tired of that yet?" is a question I never have to hear.

And along the same lines. I can turn my guitar amp to eleven if I want, and I can practice the same lick 1,000 times in a row, which is sometimes what it takes just to achieve mediocrity.

And I can watch SpongeBob without anyone rolling their eyes at me. (No, I don't have kids, I just have an immature streak.)
