The Pupuseria on Bridge SW is finally opening a second pupuseria !! They have leased and are fitting out the white and blue building on the corner of San Mateo and Gibson, by the VA Hospital Entrance.
Is the East side ready for friend plaintains, pupusa de loroco and banana wrapped tamales?
OHHH! I love the pupusas de camaron, calabacillas and espinacas. The fresh juice and the leche batida is also yummy. I am glad they are doing well enough to expand.
I thought it was interesting that IQ, when recently reviewing the place, had a bad experience with broken air conditioning. Every time I've been in there it's been cranked to polar (unfortunately, I sort of prefer the former).
AH! We so want to go down to the Bridge location, but our schedules have been fighting it, and then when we tried for lunch a couple of Mondays ago, they weren't open! Does anybody know the hours of the old location? What about when the new location is slated to open its doors? So many people have raved, I really wanna get in there and eat some of this stuff!
All this talk of the Pupuseria sent us down there on Friday night. Damn I love those Tamales. ( i think we were sitting next to a couple of other DCF'ers)
I asked when the new location opens, she said "maybe in a couple of weeks".
Open tues-sat 9am to 8pm. Maybe on sundays too.
Try the plantains Khan! We have been buying plantains since eating them El Salvador style, and cooking them up, but I'm thinking we might need a deep fryer to get them just so. We used to eat Plantains at a cuban place in Los Angeles and they never tasted as good as these guys make them.
Never noticed the air-conditioning, too focused on "food get in ma belly".
We picked up dinner here tonight, a tasty assortment of pupusas, platanos, frijoles and crema. It's open from 9-6, and has a very small interior eating area and a tiny patio. The phone # is 268-0136; street address is 2025 Ridgecrest SE.
