hey body builders!! i just got into duke city fix just recently and i love it!! so i have a question id love some comments on advice if you guys have any?? im 5'8 at 229lbs. ive lost 50lbs in the past 6months. ive always been very athletic and im running these days about 3-4miles 3x a week. but i want to start body building to get some really nice muscle tone!! ive been lifting a lot this past month, and i think i hurt my back a little even though i know that you should always be careful with you rback and lift with your legs when doing heavy lifting. but how should someone like me really get started?? i want a really strong upper body!!! i would love to rock climb, and surf when i go on vacation evey year!! so should i get a personal trainer at my gym or any advice on getting started??? i still want to loose about 50 more lbs though...-stephy

When you joined your gym did you receive any complementary personal training sessions? If you did and haven't taken advantage, now would be a perfect time. If not, a few sessions with a qualified personal trainer might be a great jumping point. Learn a few new tricks and improve on the ones you already have. If this didn't really help, give me a holler and we can discuss more! - Sarah
