300/400 series buses no longer used on weekends?
Today when I was at Downtown Albuquerque, I noticed some 700 series buses today on the 16-18, 36, and 50. For the entire time I was at Downtown, I did not see any 300 or 400 series buses at all. The only bus from the Yale garage I noticed was the Old Town Trolley. No 300s or 400s at all.
So, I am guessing that unless I was at the wrong place, the 300 and 400 series buses are no longer used on weekends. I am guessing that the 700 series are less expensive to operate, as diesel-electric hybrid buses have much better fuel economy than CNG buses.

Hey, i noticed the same thing this morning. Central and Lomas and Menaul, and Wyoming, Louisiana and San Mateo. They were all new buses. I thought the city knew they were more reliable so were using them since its so much longer between buses on weekends.

I'm not sure whether reliability is the reason, however, I think that a more likely reason is due to their lower operating costs due to their diesel-electric hybrid technology, vs. the CNG used by the 300/400 series. In fact, CNG buses are usually more expensive to operate than regular diesel buses.

I noticed that too. I was on 155 today and I expected to see a 300 series bus because they normally run on 157 and now 155 but I didn't see any. I guess, like you said, it is only 700 series buses on weekends.
