Does anyone know what happened to Adelita's Restaurant (at the NE corner of 4th and Montano)? We stopped by for lunch today, but the place was deserted, and a "For Lease" sign was hanging out in front. Not just closed, but closed for good.
Not yet...I was hoping someone here would know. But there is an Adelita's Restaurant in Santa Fe, so the next time I'm up there, I'll stop in and see if they also operated the ABQ place, and if so, what happened to it.
Sigh. I'll have to go somewhere else for tacos de lengua...or start making my own!

Have you tried cooking lengua in a crock pot? That's my favorite way, and it's always really tender, rather than rubbery. And it's deceptively easy.
1. Unwrap lengua.
2. Place it in a large crock pot.
3. Add 3-4 inches of water. You can put in enough water to cover it, but you don't need to if you're slow cooking it this way.
4. Cover and slow-cook for 8 to 10 hours on medium heat. At the risk of grossing some folks out, you'll know it's done when you can easily peel the rough skin off--it should be as easy as peeling a ripe banana.
While it's cooking you can also throw in spices, onion, garlic, tomatoes, green or red chile, or whatever sounds good.
