Anyone been to IT'Z? Some sort of kids party place on San Mateo.

Itz is a pretty cool place. A lot like Chucky Cheese or Peter Piper Pizza, except for one important aspect, they have these cool little party rooms that are separated from the games area so you can enjoy eating, cake and ice cream without getting a headache from all the noise. I don't know what they charge as we went there for a niece's party. I would recommend it though.

I've taken my daughter to parties at IT'Z. The kids like it, but as an adult, it frightens me. The noise level is unbearable! But they have a giant buffet and like I said, the kids love it.

Hinlkle Family Fun Center is always a big hit too.

Last year we did ice skating at the Outpost Skate arena and the kids had an absolute blast. They have party packages that are pretty reasonable. We've also done bowling a few years ago. Most have party packages and, again, the kids had fun. This year my daughter wants to do bowling again. And since she's older she wants to do Galactic Bowling at Isleta. It's supposed to be family friendly.

Other suggestions: Art Attack, Mama's Minerals has birthday packages (learning about rocks and jewelry making) And don't forget about the museums. I believe Explora has a party package, but the Natural History Museum does not. If I think of more I'll let you know.

Itz is a hit with most kiddos I know.

Atomic Museum had a party package several years ago - it might appeal more to kids who are slightly older.

I don't know if the Biopark has official party packages, but we've had some great kid birthday parties on the Zoo lawn in front of the shell. There's plenty of room for them to run around, you can walk around the zoo, feed ducks and fall into the water as you do so!

I scream Ice cream on Carlisle and Indian School is fun.
Also I haven't been to the Golfernoggins( indoor mini golf) on Lomas and San Mateo but it looks good too.
My kids, who are 8 have mixed reviews of IT'Z.

My kids went to a party at Stone Age Climbing Gym once and had a blast. Check out their "rates" page for pricing on something like that. As I recall, we had to sign a release to attend.

I second the climbing gym. My kids love it. They also enjoyed ice skating at Blades in RR.

We had my daughter's last birthday party at an ice rink. We had cake and ice cream and I arranged for a 1/2 hour skating lesson. After that, everyone skated until they felt like stopping. With one exception, everyone had a blast. The one exception found out she hated ice skating so it wasn't a total loss. It was the best, low-key party we have ever had.

Village Pizza in Corrales. The kids get to make their own pizza. S'fun.

My kids, seven and nine, begged me to have their parties at ITZ. But I'm an old curmudgeon who makes them have backyard parties. Explora and the Climbing Gym are great options for that age. For something different, I've heard the Archery Center on San Mateo hosts parties as well.

Michaels for a craft party is nice and then its creative! You can call and rent a room. Also EXPLORA does party reservations and that's nice while they are young.

zoo, biopark too.

and i like it better because then they interact with each other and not the machines.

Stay away from party places with machines- do they really need more video games? A musuem or zoo is great, plan games at a park. I use to hire teenagers to help keep the kids in sight and to run the games/projects. Sure made my day easier and just more sets of eyes. If you belong to a gym like JCC or NMSW they may offer some kind of party package. And if your kid is like mine and really does not need anymore stuff, instead of gifts ask for donations of items to go to charity- school supplies, food for a food bank, socks, etc for Peanut Butter and Jelly.
